English, from primary up to VCE

Hello,

My greatest achievement as a tutor has been helping students leap two grades up in one semester.

I have 5 years of tutoring experience, and a Bachelor of Arts from La Trobe with First Class Honours in Sociology. I am driven and focused on assisting students with English, SOSE, and History so that they not only pass, but also learn skills and knowledge that will help them their whole lives.

In 2017, the best and most rewarding result, was taking a student that did not care for English or study, and helping him to ace his High School English exam with almost the highest mark. The student and their parents were very pleased.

With a focus on tuition in the areas of English, Sociology, History, Asian and cultural studies, in addition to these fields, my areas of expertise includes instruction in report and essay writing,  and pushing the reading comprehension of his students with new and exciting texts. It is my belief that learning can be made into a truly enjoyable challenge.

I have thrown my total commitment into tutoring, and my tutoring business. My character and sense of humour works well with high school students.

Active in editing and tertiary level writing since 2007 I was fortunate to have assisted in the editing of an extensive academic bibliography: James Leibold’s (2007) On Reconfiguring Chinese Nationalism: How the Qing Frontier and its Indigenes Became Chinese. Securing Trevor for editing services is of course possible.

2017 was an excellent year. The tutoring business continues to grow.

I tutor in and around the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. I can travel to you.

To discuss prices and tutoring, contact me today. ID and working with children check will be shown on the first lesson.

Private Tutor - Primary & Secondary

Hello! My name is Ariane and I have been tutoring for 8 years and have recently relocated to the Gold Coast to commence a Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University. I have tutored and mentored students across several ages ranging from Primary to Tertiary levels however I have a passion for Maths, Science and Accounting. Throughout my time as a tutor I have had the pleasure of watching students transition from upper primary into high school and have taken a keen interest in ensuring students are prepared for this transition both academically and ensuring they have developed good general skills including study habbits and organisation. In 2013 I graduated from St Peter's Lutheran College Brisbane having compelted English, Maths B, Chemistry, Biology, Study of Religion and French. I completed my undergraduate degree in Accountancy and Behavioural Science which has allowed me to tutor additional subjects including Maths C, Accountancy and Psychology. I am still commuting back to Brisbane on the weekends to tutor my existing clients however, I am looking to build my local base of students in the Gold Coast which I can fit around my university studies.

Are you looking to learn Japanese or ESL/EAL?  Or wanting to improve your current languageskills?

Let me help.

I'm a qualified - and very passionate and enthusiastic - Japanese and ESL/EAL teacher registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and have spent close to 10 years living and working in Japan, teaching both Japanese and English.  During this time I did interpreting, translating and had my own business.  I also achieved Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (the highest level).

I absolutely love teaching all levels and ages - from complete beginners, to those travelling overseas or new to Australia, to students wanting to get high marks in VCE or anyone interested in developing their current language and cultural understandings.  I'm happy to teach individuals, groups or families.

I have a current Working with Children Check, an Australian Federal Police check, a current driver's licence and a range of academic qualifications (Bachelors, Diploma, Masters, PhD).

First lesson quality (and fun) guaranteed or your money back.  Packaged lessons available at a discount also.

Mathematics

Hi, I am currently studying a bachelour of Education (Primary/Middle) at UniSA specialising in Mathematics and Drama. Due to my study I am up to date with the current curriculum and can ensure that each lesson is relevant and worth the time. Feel free to contact me - nicolepatriciamatthews@gmail.com.

I have had previous tutoring experience particularly in primary school years. I can easily make "boring" topics more engaging and plan a lesson around a students learning needs. I understand that many students find it difficult to stay focused, especially if they have already spent that whole day studying, therefore my lessons never run for more than an hour.

I am passionate about helping others and seeing them reach their potential.

One-on-One WACE Tutoring

Hey!

My name is Kiera Sanders and I provide tutoring in a range of different subjects, including:

- Years 7-10 math, science and english;

- Years 11-12 english, human biology, chemistry and physics.

I graduated high school in 2017 with an ATAR of 95.75, and am currently studying my MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). I graduated with honours, a rare achievement of an A grade in 4 subjects (average mark above 80% in each). I have previous tutoring experience, and have had great reviews in the past.

My tutoring follows two basic tenets:

1. We find what learning style works best for you, and I plan our lessons around that. Whether you are an auditory, visual or kinesthetic learner, we find what helps you and tailor lessons accordingly.

2. Stick by the syllabus. This ensures that information you learn will be of use to you in WACE or years 7-10 exams, and ensures that you are using your tutoring time to the fullest. Using the syllabus is the best way to ensure you are prepared for exams to come.

Classical Piano

Like so many other five-year-olds at that time I was forced into piano lessons by my mother. When I hesistantly sat down in front of that boistrously terrifying Spanish man's piano all those years ago little did I know how much it would change my life. Since then I've brought my love for piano through the twists and turns of 14 more years of young life in America, through my world travels and now all the way to Oz! In my four years of teaching I've seen young and old, experienced and brand-spanking new, even saw how music can transcend language barriers with my own Spanish-speaking students. A journey into piano must must must be personalised, so although I keep up standards with the American College of Musicians National Piano Guild I'm much more keen to adjust material to the individual student; looking forward to meet you!

Mental Arithmetic & Abacus

My journey of abacus and mental arithmetic started when I was six. I participated in many local and international competitions, while also being awarded with top three prizes in all the competitions.

Mental arithmetic allows students to perform complicated and lengthy mental calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) accurately within an incredibly short period of (few seconds OR EVEN LESS THAN 1 sec!). It trains our brain to perform instant calculation, enhance memory, provide better sense of numbers, promote higher attention and focus (which is really helpful for anything including academic studies).

One-to-one class session and group tutoring are both available. While I suggest students to come in group to get mutual encouragement and you always get greater momentum to gain self-improvement via healthy positive competition among peers/friends!
Class can be conducted in English or Chinese.

Practice itself doesn't make perfect, but deliberate practice guided by professional trainer which challenges our brains' adaptability does!

Check it out to find the talent in you or your kid!
